The Motorola Atrix has been built up to be a smartphone to get excited about since its announcement at CES where it was dubbed the world’s ‘most powerful handset’. Ever since then, anyone in the UK wanting to snap up the Moto masterpiece has had to play the waiting game, with an official release date for the Atrix being kept under wraps by the manufacturer.
Now that the Tegra 2 dual-core processor smartphone has made its way to US shelves, attention has turned to that vague Q2 release date we’ve heard about for the Atrix’s arrival on UK shores. Orange revealed that June was the likely launch month by confirming it would be stocking the handset and Android Community has now added to this rumour, also revealing that they think we’ll see the Motorola Atrix then. The Android fan-site didn’t specify a reason why it believes the much-vaunted smartphone will arrive in June but we’re willing to go with them on this one.
The Motorola Atrix offers 4G connectivity for US users and although we won’t be able to benefit from super-speedy mobile internet in Blighty, the latest Android handset from Moto still offers plenty of other tech goodies. Aside from the dual-core job, the Atrix has a 4 inch qHD display, Android 2.2 Froyo, a 5 megapixel camera and HD video playback at 1080p.
