Looks like Paramount can’t get enough of their favorite jackasses. After starring in the hit “Jackass” movie franchise, based off of the popular MTV show, Johnny Knoxville is set to star in a new film for the studio that turns him into the President’s husband.
According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures is putting a new picture called “First Man” into development with Knoxville set to star as a man whose wife becomes the President.
The character is described as a natural hell raiser, who has behaved himself during his wife’s Presidental campaign, only for their relationship to change once he moves into the White House and becomes the First Man. With that, he’s inclined to return back to his rowdy form. Knoxville’s Dickhouse Entertainment and Priya Swaminathan are set to produce the picture with Matt Spicer and Max Winkler, known for the Uma Thurman-starring “Ceremony,” writing the film.
In addition to “First Man,” Deadline also reports that Paramount is rearranging “Mustache Riders,” a project that has been in the works since 2008, for “Jackass” regulars Knoxville, Bam Margera and Ryan Dunn. The comedy is about three small-time crooks that go out on a journey to find buried treasure with an old outlaw. Famed musician Willie Nelson is also part of the cast, and rumor has it that the script is being revised so that Knoxville, Margera, and Dunn can perform their own stunts.
This news comes after Knoxville was shortlisted for the Farrelly Brothers’s “The Three Stooges,” though the directing duo eventually denied that rumor. Still, with these two projects potentially in the works, Knoxville and his “Jackass” pals are certainly riding high right now.
