Vin Diesel Gets His ‘Terminator’ On As ‘The Machine,’ Two More Join ‘Hunger Games’ In Today’s Casting Call

Vin DieselTalk about Judgment Day — while Arnold Schwarzenegger puts his movie career on hold, Vin Diesel gets ready to launch a "Terminator"-like franchise of his own.

reports that Diesel is producing and starring in "The Machine," a new movie that centers on "a human-like machine created in secrecy by the Pentagon as the world's first true ultimate weapon." Twenty years after it's decommissioned and buried away, the machine is discovered by a child and the two become friends. Sounds kind of like "Terminator" meets "Iron Giant," doesn't it?

"Hunger" Casting
For a story about some truly ugly subject matter, the film adaptation of "The Hunger Games" sure is getting prettier and prettier. Hollywood Crush reports that Latarsha Rose and Brooke Bundy are joining the cast of Gary Ross' post-apocalyptic tale as Portia and Octavia, two stylists that work with heroes Katniss and Peeta as they prepare for the deadly games.

Vance Is The New "Transporter"
Jason Statham won't be back in the drivers seat when "The Transporter" becomes a television show, but he's got a great replacement lined up already. Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive news that Chris Vance of "Prison Break" and "Burn Notice" fame is taking on the role of Frank Martin; near-perfect casting in our books.

"Great Hope Springs" For Jones
Tommy Lee Jones has joined the cast of "Great Hope Springs," Deadline reports. He'll star opposite Meryl Streep and Steve Carell as one half of a middle-aged couple that suddenly finds their marriage on the verge of collapse after thirty years together. Streep plays his wife, while Carell plays their marriage counselor.
