One Million Samsung Galaxy Tabs To Sell This Year

Samsung has revealed that they are “confident” one million Samsung Galaxy Tabs will be sold by the end of the year. The company’s mobile division leader, JK Shin told journalists that early sales for the Tab were “quite good,” and believes that they will hit the one million mark before 2011.

This figure would be enough to make the Galaxy Tab the most popular selling Android tablet computer, although it doesn’t quite match up to Apple’s iPad which sold one million units in a month. The Samsung Galaxy Tab was released in Europe on Monday and launched in its native country Korea yesterday. The 7 inch tablet will be going stateside next week, ahead of the Christmas shopping rush.

The Galaxy Tab has become one of the hottest devices of the year since making its debut at the IFA in September. It boasts a range of top specs including Android 2.2, a 1GHz processor, phone calling capabilities and a 3 megapixel camera. This sales prediction suggests that the Tab is off to a good start, but will it manage to catch up with the iPad?
